We are pleased to be supporting a large ICP who carries out works on behalf of a number of DNOs as well as private clients, landowners and has great repeat business from businesses such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, delivering all-new connection works up to 132kv. Due to an increase in pipeline, awarded projects, and diversification our client is looking to increase the in-house expertise within the design team. Job purpose - Produce [Drawings and Material Schedules – make substation specific] to the required standard first time and within time scales set; Assist in the checking of Documents produced by other members of the team and document control of information received from external sources To actively develop working methods to improve the quality and quantity of the output. What you'll be doing On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for: Provide appropriate and effective support to project managers, fellow designers, field teams, commissioning engineers. Liaise with designers regarding drawing requirements, as and when appropriate to ensure technical information supplied is correctly interpreted onto the drawings.; Compiling with project and function-specific standards and practices; • Assisting in the estimation of timescales for a specific task; Assisting in the production of reports and inquiry documentation; Assisting in the training of junior members of staff and direct contract/agency personnel & technicians with their duties; Acting safely and work to eliminate hazards at source; Producing accurate packages with minimum of rework; Producing accurate and complete records. Normally work will be undertaken with an office environment although site visits with site staff will be required as well as visits to suppliers’ factories for acceptance testing of equipment. Some visits will include entry to operational substations where compliance with safety rules and procedures is mandatory. Requirements Ability to work unsupervised and comply with targets set for allocated tasks. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft applications, in particular: Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint. Experience of specialist software like CDEGS, Amtech also desirable.
