Sales/Estimating Engineer
Location: Leighton Buzzard
Salary: Up to £40k per annum
Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8.00 am - 5.00 pm, Friday: 8.00 am - 2.30 pm (flexibility for additional hours as needed)

Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales/Estimating Engineer to join a market-leading precision engineering company specialising in low-volume, high-quality tubular and threaded components for sectors such as Aerospace, F1, Oil & Gas, and Defence. This full-time, permanent role offers the chance to play a crucial part in a growing sales team, combining technical knowledge and customer-focused skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and respond to Customer RFQs, ensuring technical and non-technical queries are addressed.
2. Create timely and accurate estimates and quotations based on customer enquiries and technical drawings.
3. Provide exceptional customer service by liaising via phone and email, ensuring a client-focused approach.
4. Produce quotations, estimating machining, material, and inspection times for in-house work, and incorporating externally sourced elements when necessary.
5. Develop and maintain supplier relationships for subcontracted components.
6. Identify machining methods and accurate cycle times for manufacture (experience in CNC Turning & Boring is a significant advantage).
7. Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy.
Experience and Qualities Required:
1. Extensive experience in precision engineering with strong knowledge of machining capabilities and practices.
2. Proficiency in reading and translating technical drawings is essential.
3. Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Strong computer literacy.
5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening, and negotiation skills.
6. A proactive attitude with pride in delivering high-quality work and contributing to company performance.
7. Commitment, loyalty, and a drive to enhance business performance.
8. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
9. Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
