Fabulous opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager - Permanent position offering a salary package up to £85,000.
We are in the process of sourcing an experienced Health and Safety Manager to be site-based on a £multi-million luxury residential fit-out in the heart of Mayfair. The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring all employees, sub-contractors, clients & members of the public are kept safe at all times.
Health and Safety Manager responsibilities will include:
1. Preparation, review and approval of Health & Safety Policies, procedures and guidance in keeping with best practice and make recommendations on their implementation and application.
2. Complying with current H&S legislation.
3. Compiling method statements and reviewing risk assessments.
4. Planning & carrying out audits and inspections of site & all working areas.
5. Issuing written reports on the results of site safety inspections or safety audits.
6. Auditing procedures & systems with subcontractors e.g.; Method statements, risk assessments and COSHH.
7. Continually monitoring the compliance of sub-contractors.
8. Ensuring site inductions are carried out appropriately.
9. Increasing Health & Safety awareness.
10. Investigating and issuing full reports on any accidents.
11. Producing Construction phase Health and Safety Plan.
12. Collating periodical information for reports and clients' needs.
13. Participating in safety meetings with site management, discussing upcoming works and potential hazards, high-risk activities.
14. Ensuring all documentation is collated and stored in line with Company policies.
15. Carrying out any reasonable request of a similar nature as directed by management.
16. Placing & monitoring licence applications (scaffold, parking, gantries, etc).
The successful Health & Safety Manager will have:
1. NEBOSH, Tech (IOSH) minimum.
2. Minimum of 5 years experience in a Health & Safety standalone role.
3. Construction background and knowledge of high-end residential industry advantageous.
4. Working knowledge of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
5. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple sites at any one time.
6. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with statutory authorities, contractors and site staff.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to commute into London daily.
