A Vacancy at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will join the Step 3+ therapy provision within Trafford Psychological Therapies, an NHS Talking Therapies Service (previously known as IAPT).
They will be providing highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy for people with complex, co-morbid, chronic common mental health problems as well as ensuring the appropriate provision of high-quality, individual and group, clinical supervision to psychological therapists as appropriate.
They will provide expert advice and consultation outside the service to members of the primary health care team and, as appropriate, to secondary care services. Where required they will be expected to undertake appropriate audit, research, and service development activities pertinent to the evaluation and development of the service. The postholder will adhere to the service standards for clinical activity and work within the procedures, protocols and guidelines for the service. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities.
There is an expectation to offer an evening clinic within this role and to have a mix of face-to-face and remote working.
Formulate, implement and evaluate psychological therapy programmes for clients.
To undertake risk assessment and risk management for clients as necessary, and to provide general advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.
Exercise an appropriate degree of autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of clients in line with service standards and best practice guidance.
Adhere to service performance standards and expectations re caseload, throughput, and demonstrated effectiveness.
Provide clinical supervision to qualified psychological therapists, trainee clinical psychologists and other roles as appropriate.
Attend relevant meetings relating to performance monitoring and service developments.
Keep coherent electronic records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.
Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
Provide specialist advice and consultation to other professionals / individuals / groups / committees across Mental Health Trusts and other voluntary agencies regarding service matters related to the practice and delivery of specific agreed therapeutic modalities and service provision
