Specialist Doctor - Droitwich Neighbourhood Mental Health Team
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust
We are looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated Specialist Doctor to work across the Droitwich Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (four days per week) and the Worcester Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (one day per week).
Droitwich Neighbourhood Mental Health Team was established in late 2021 as part of the Transformation Model in line with the NHS Long-Term Plan. This team is aligned with the population of the Droitwich, Ombersley, and the Rurals Primary Care Network (PCN), providing locality-based mental health care and close working with primary care partners and voluntary sector and social enterprises.
The NMHT covers a geographical area which includes Droitwich Spa town and many other rural villages and is aligned to seven General Practices, three within the town and four in outlying villages.
Main duties of the job
The team currently consists of a Clinical Lead, six Mental Health Practitioners (two part-time), a support worker, three psychologists, an IPS worker, an Employment Retention worker, an Onside Link Worker, and support from a Connect Professional, Locum Psychiatrist, and lead from Worcestershire Association of Carers.
We have strong links with the Community Voluntary Service, which is close to the base, and utilise numerous community assets to support patients with their recovery.
Currently, we run an in-person Managing Emotions Programme which is eight sessions long and have had extremely positive feedback and recovery measured outcomes from patients who have completed this group. We also have access to a lower-level Managing Emotions Group run by MIND outside of the NMHT care.
