Science Teacher Location: Wirral Pay: £130 - £170 Per day, dependent on payroll choice Sector: Independent Special Needs School We are looking for a passionate Science Teacher to join our team at an independent special needs school on the Wirral. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage and support students in developing their scientific knowledge, reengage with their education, and build their confidence in learning. About the School: This small provision caters for young people aged 11-14 who have faced disruptions in their education. The school focuses on rebuilding students' confidence and self-esteem through a multi-agency approach, combining academic support with emotional and therapeutic development. With a capacity for 32 students (currently 12 on roll), the school offers small class sizes (3-5 pupils) and a high staff-to-student ratio. Students also take part in enriching activities such as horse riding, team-building, and vocational training in beauty and hairdressing, gaining life skills alongside their academic learning. Your Role as a Science Teacher: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Science lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students. Help students improve their understanding of scientific concepts across various topics. Provide support for students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Differentiate lesson content and teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving in students as they explore scientific principles. Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement personalised education plans for students. What We're Looking For: Qualified teacher status (QTS) with experience teaching Science, preferably to students with additional needs. A passion for helping students develop their scientific knowledge and curiosity. Strong communication, classroom management, and organisational skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs. A proactive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff.
