Design Team Lead
Clarke are a growing specialist construction business based in Ballymena with a portfolio of work that reaches all over the UK and Ireland.

Having secured a pipeline of work across the UK, we are now seeking to recruit a talented Design Team Lead. This role can be based at our Head Quarters in Ballymena or in the UK.
Our designers go above and beyond in our design process, applying high levels of knowledge and expertise to ensure and design excellence and also ensuring compliance to current building regulations; CWCT guidance; Contract Specification and our own internal design standards whilst meeting all of the client and project design team requirements.
About The Role
Role Summary
* Manage, prioritise, and delegate the workload of the Project Design Team to ensure delivery of design objectives across allocated projects.
* Represent Clarke at all client design meetings and project handovers, clearly communicating design scope and requirements.
* Oversee the development of project packaging, phase splits, and design deliverables in collaboration with Planning and the Technical Director.
* Ensure all design outputs comply with agreed specifications, Building Regulations, British Standards, CWCT guidance, and Clarke’s internal design standards.
* Allocate and coordinate design packages across internal and external resources, maintaining quality, budget control, and programme alignment.
* Promote innovation, efficiency, and design excellence in façade solutions, ensuring consistent detailing standards and documentation practices.
* Liaise with Planning and Commercial teams to provide accurate time estimates, programme updates, and monthly design cost forecasts.
* Support team development through mentoring, technical guidance, and contribution to training plans and design office improvements.
* Manage the distribution and control of client-provided information, ensuring variations and updates are communicated effectively within the company.

Desired Criteria
* Experience of using BIM on a regular basis.
* Strong experience of Autodesk packages such as Revit, Inventor or Fusion
Required Criteria
* Degree, HND or equivalent in the built environment sector; Engineering or Architecture/Architectural Technology
* 7+ years’ experience as a designer in cladding and/or glazing
* Significant knowledge of unitised and stick systems, window/door systems, and cladding materials (e.g. Rainscreen Cladding, GFRC, terracotta)
* Highly proficient in use of AutoCAD
