GENERAL FUNCTION
* Perform a variety of troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance duties required to maintain all production equipment in serviceable and efficient operating condition.
* Create and maintain a positive work environment through effective communication with all stakeholders (Operators, Supervisors, Education Coordinator, HR…), by supporting the culture of the organization and serving as a model for team behaviors. Must have a commitment to the overall organizational direction and the team-based approach.
* As a member of a continuous manufacturing facility that operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, this position will be required to respond to the facility during unscheduled work hours.
* Monitor machines for optimum operation and product flow (this requires answering alarms and running machines through HMI screens).
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* The Team Lead - Maintenance is an electro-mechanical specialist – he/she has a thorough understanding of technical (skill) considerations for the job demonstrated through 1-3 years prior experience and has completed all technical training requirements for their assigned department.
* Communicate with Autotechs and operators on the previous shift to discuss problems and concerns. Locate and diagnose complex equipment problems and ensure timely corrective action. Inform supervisor of need for major repairs.
* Calibrate and adjust equipment as required or scheduled.
* Develop predictive maintenance procedures to maximize replacement component life without compromising equipment efficiency and performance.
* Knowledge of various automation components such as pneumatics, electronics, sensors, and switches.
* Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, and tests.
* Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
* Maintain equipment in compliance with National Electric Code (NEC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
* Revise and create ISO-related documents (SOPs, work instructions, POIs, MFGs, MCNs, JSA’s, etc.).
* Support daily management of PLCs, HMIs, Robots, Camera systems, RFIDs, and related instrumentation in order to maximize plant efficiency and reliability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* At least 3 to 5 years specialized experience supporting the Gentex Automation line/equipment required, 2 years’ experience as an Automation Technician II and education equivalent to an accredited apprenticeship in electrical/electronic and/or certification in electrical/electronic preferred.
* Knowledge of various control system platforms such as PLC, Fanuc, Siemens, DCS, Wonderware, Intellution.
* Knowledge of Building maintenance software and (TMS) Training and document control database.
* CI tools and programs/basic knowledge of adult learning theory, OEE, and TPM tools.
* Familiar with Rockwell Automation’s SLC and Control Logix processors using RSLogix 500 and RSLogix 5000.
* Knowledge of Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan (Mass Hazardous waste regulation-310 CMR.30.521-30.524).
* Strong technical competencies in electro-mechanical and automation skills.
* A mix of standing/moving (90%) and sitting (10%) is required. Ability to climb, push, bend, and stretch on a regular basis. Some lifting up to 75 lbs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Prior leadership experience preferred.
