The client is seeking candidates with an in-depth knowledge in civils and who is able to take on responsibility and work off their own initiative in a busy working environment. Construction Engineer Responsibilities: Develop and review project plans and designs, ensuring they meet commercial and technical requirements. Optimize the use of resources, including labour, materials, and equipment. Supervise construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards. Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets, and monitor project costs to ensure they stay within budget. Manage contracts, including tendering, negotiating, and ensuring compliance with contract terms. Maintain accurate project documentation and prepare progress reports for senior management. Identify and mitigate project risks, contributing to the risk register and risk analysis. Support and train junior engineers and team members in quantity surveying techniques and tools. Continually review and improve project management and quantity surveying processes. Construction Engineer Requirements: Bachelors degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction engineering, with a focus on commercial projects. Strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, proficiency in construction management software, and a good understanding of construction methods and legal issues. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certifications are advantageous. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for cost management. Excellent salary and package available to the right candidate.
