This is a fantastic opportunity for a Director of B2B Distribution to join our leading UK Insurance business. This role is the face of Bupa in the intermediary market responsible for leading the UKI Broker relationship and third-party distribution strategy across all segments (Corporate, SMC, SME and Specialist) whilst taking the lead on the delivery of our new business/ hunter activity. The role will ensure distribution activities are of sufficient quality, satisfy customer needs meet regulatory standards, fall within risk appetite and always deliver fair customer outcomes.

Our desire to grow across Business PMI and Specialist Products, which is heavily intermediated, means that a strong leader with in-depth knowledge of the intermediary market is crucial to achieving our objectives and driving our B2B New Business Growth activity.
The Director of B2B Distribution will build, develop and harness the benefits of a diverse team. They will be a dynamic leader who plays a big role across BSP, UKI and the broader Market Unit.
The role is a Key Function Performer for the Insurance Regulated Entity General Manager, B2B & Specialist.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
1. Acts as strategic thought leader, developing and executing the marketing and sales strategy for B2B third-party distribution
2. Responsible for setting and delivering the performance of the function including pricing to agreed targets for sales.
3. Accountable for new business growth, revenue and supporting broker profitability, as set out in the Bupa UK strategy.
4. Lead all “Hunter” activity and teams across SME Intermediary, Corporate and Specialist
5. Support the Director of SME and Specialist/ Corporate in all “Farmer” activity across broker and third party relationships for Corporate, SME PMI and Specialist
6. Support Director of SME and Specialist/ Corporate in the successful delivery of our P&L AOP with key focus on broker profitability
7. Executes and manages all Intermediary marketing campaigns and communications; also working with the Product, Proposition and marketing teams on promotion of Bupa UK Insurance products
8. Accountable for identifying and developing commercially successful relationships with intermediary partners
9. Takes responsibility for successful outcomes of New Business and PPA bids and tenders ensuring effective implementation
10. Accountable for broker NPS with a key focus on developing a broker CX to improve and drive third party performance
11. As a member of the leadership team contribute to the overall leadership of the business, helping to shape its strategy and lead a culture that delivers good customer and regulatory outcomes
12. Ensure an appropriate control framework exists across the function, including appropriate control of third-party distributors, to ensure the fair treatment of customers and good regulatory outcomes in all aspects of B2B distribution
13. Model the culture and take responsibility for the maintenance and development of reputation and relationships with key stakeholders such as regulators, customers and other internal and external stakeholders
14. For all areas of responsibility, develop a clear strategy and change roadmap
15. Responsible for overseeing the implementation and delivery of the plans to deliver on the overall UK Insurance strategy and Annual Operating Plan
16. Maintain a robust control environment to ensure both FCA and CQC regulatory compliance with appropriate location and apportionment of accountability.
Key Skills/Qualifications needed for this role:
17. Significant experience and proven ability to lead and manage major channel in Financial Services organisation/s
18. Track record of having successfully delivered a strong control environment in a complex operation including distribution along with improvement in commercial performance
19. Proven track record of working effectively and developing relationships with SME’s and corporate customers, Intermediaries and third party distributors
20. Experience of working with Financial Services regulators
21. Strong track record of transforming business performance and delivering sustainable business results across the balanced
22. Experience of leading teams / functions of a relevant size and scale (people, resources, challenges and opportunities)
23. Experience of leading and working successfully in a large complex, matrix organisation. The role holder will operate across a wide organisation and UK geography and across multiple functions
24. In depth knowledge of successfully increasing growth with businesses in healthcare markets.
25. Proven track record of setting strategic direction and maximising business opportunities with businesses.
26. A strategic thinker, the successful candidate must be capable of sound decision-making and able to consider wider business issues alongside considerable grasp of the detail.
27. Ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders both internal and external and feels comfortable working with Directors at board level.
28. Track record of ‘treating customers fairly’ and delivering compliant sales within a regulatory environment is key.
29. Strong programme and project management skills combined with execution focus.
30. Acts ethically and honestly in all dealing with customers and colleagues building compliance, authenticity and trust.
31. Demonstrates necessary gravitas to be viewed externally as the voice of Intermediary distribution in Bupa.
