* Job Title: Band 7/8a Oncology/Haematology Pharmacist
* Location: London
* Duration: 6 months minimum
* Schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 9am – 5pm, 30-minute break
* Start Date: March 2025
* End Date: Ongoing
* Rate of pay: £28–37ph depending on experience
Details of the role:
* Contribute to the specialist multidisciplinary team providing inpatient, day case, and outpatient chemotherapy for various oncology and haemato-oncology cancer sites.
* Oversee the safe management of high-risk systemic anticancer treatments.
* Provide clinical pharmacy services to wards and departments.
* Attend and contribute to the haematology ward round and MDT meetings.
* Contribute to the pharmaceutical care of patients admitted for acute oncology reasons.
* Clinically verify prescriptions for SACT and supportive medication.
* Prescribe supportive medication where indicated.
* Provide specialist advice and support to medical and nursing staff, and other pharmacy team members.
* Educate and train nurses and other pharmacy team members.
* Counsel patients and confirm consent prior to initiating SACT treatment.
* Communicate effectively with primary care regarding the care of patients on SACT medicines.
* Act as a pharmaceutical and prescribing adviser, including the production and review of medicines-related guidelines and pathways.
* Contribute to the safe introduction of new SACT.
* Undertake clinical pharmacy practice at an advanced level.
* Provide professional supervision to technical and supporting staff.
* Participate in clinical audit and initiatives aimed at assuring high-quality prescribing and pharmacy practice.
Requirements and qualifications required for this role:
* MPharm
* Registered with GPHC
* Reliable
* BOPA SACT Passport
Working hours and contract duration:
* Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 9am – 5pm, 30-minute break
