As an Electrical Construction Supervisor, your day starts with a team briefing to set objectives and safety protocols. You inspect the site, oversee electricians’ work on construction and maintenance, and ensure compliance with standards and regulations. You coordinate with other departments to resolve issues, promote teamwork, and conduct safety checks. In the afternoon, you update project documentation and collaborate with engineering. By day’s end, you review progress, plan for the next day, and secure the site, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
How you’ll make an impact
1. Supervise crews in construction, modification, and maintenance activities for transmission and distribution substations.
2. Coordinate construction, modification, and maintenance of assigned projects by arranging for staffing, materials, and equipment.
3. Direct efforts to achieve world-class excellence in safe work practices and safety performance, ensuring compliance with OSHA and all company procedures.
4. Ensure all activities are performed in a timely, effective, and cost-efficient manner.
5. Ensure compliance with environmental programs, policies, rules, and regulations.
6. Be responsible for the reliability and condition of substation assets under their jurisdiction.
7. Promote teamwork among and between all members of the Transmission and Distribution organizations in their jurisdiction and other internal groups.
8. Provide marked-up drawings to reflect as-built configurations and work with engineering to ensure changes are incorporated in drawings.
What you’ll bring
1. Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent related work experience.
2. Thorough knowledge of operating procedures, switching and tagging, and the ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring prints, schematics, and diagrams for equipment.
3. Thorough knowledge of applicable work practices, procedures, and safety requirements.
4. Detailed knowledge of power system maintenance and operation.
5. Thorough knowledge of Electro-Mechanical installation.
6. Thorough knowledge of Civil construction.
7. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
