JobSummary:
TheHomeless Casework Service was established to help applicants whoare homeless or living in temporary accommodation to move intosuitable and sustainable housing The Resilience team workscollaboratively with partners to move households into suitablehousing and improve housing sustainment. Within the HomelessCasework Service the Resilience Team will provide specialisthousing and support pathways for homeless applicants with morecomplex needs such as survivors of domestic abuse.The SpecialistResilience Housing Coordinator willprovide specialist casework to applicants experiencing domesticabuse. The Resilience Team will also embed safeguarding bestpractice across the wider Housing Advisory Service.You must have expert knowledge of welfarehousing and homelessness policy legislation and practice as well asspecialist knowledge of Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding policy andpractice.
Themain responsibilities of theSpecialist ResilienceHousing Coordinator willinclude:
* Toprovide excellent customer service to homeless applicants and keypartners.
* Toprovide specialist homelessness casework to survivors of domesticabuse ensuring that all aspects of casework are carried out inaccordance with legislation strategies policies and initiatives setout at the national regional and local level through effective andregular case work supervision advice guidance andsupport.
* Helpensure the survivors safety through appropriate and timelyinterventions into incidents of femalegenital mutilation forced marriage and honourbasedviolence.
* Collaboratewith internal and external partners to improve outcomes fordomestic abuse survivors with housingneeds.
* Contributeto the dissemination and embedding of safeguarding best practiceacross the wider Housing AdvisoryService.
* Contributeto the development of the Resilience Team and wider HousingAdvisoryService.
KeyDuties/Accountabilities(Sample):
* Toensure our duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act are metdelivering a proactive person centred outcome focused and end toend case managementapproach.
* Toundertake comprehensive assessments that lead to focused andcoproduced Personal Housing Plans (PHP) for eachapplicant.
* Toassess applicants under the prevention and relief duties issueS.184 final decision letters ensuring effective communication andmanagement of expectations withcustomers.
* Asappropriate undertake the assessment and completion of highqualityrisk management plans for applicants utilising information from arange of stakeholders and the applicantthemselves.
* Tominimise risk by identifying reporting and following up anysafeguardingconcerns.
* Possessand maintain an ongoing indepth knowledge of relevant welfare andhousing legislation and the Council s statutory housing dutiespolicies andprocedures.
* Provideadvice and guidance to applicants by responding effectively andefficiently to enquiries maintaining the highest standards ofprofessionalism and customercare.
* Createand maintain accurate GDPR compliant client records and notes ofall casework activities and decisions through both manual and ITrecordingsystems.
* Coordinatethe provision of services and support for applicants in line withthe PHP liaising with other teams and both internal and externalservices.
* Attendvarious multiagency meetings as required such as MARAC (multiagencyrisk assessmentconference).
Skills/Experience:
* Significantexperience of providing specialist homelessness casework tohomeless applicants with more complex needs such as survivors ofdomesticabuse.
* Significantexperience of working collaboratively to improve outcomes forhomeless applicants with more complex needs such as survivors ofdomesticabuse.
* Abilityand experience to consistently deliver high levels of customerservice to homeless applicants with more complex needs such assurvivors of domesticabuse.
* Abilityand experience of ensuring all aspects of casework is carried outin accordance with legislation strategies policies and initiativesset out at the national regional and locallevel.
* Abilityand experience of consistently achieving performance objectives inthe provision of specialist homelessnesscasework.
* Abilityto contribute to the identification dissemination and embedding ofexisting and emerging best practice within the team and across thewider Housing AdvisoryService.
* Abilityto effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders includingapplicants members partners and soon.
* Significantknowledge of welfare homelessness and housing policy strategieslegislation and case law and its implementation within a statutoryhomelessnessservice.
* Significantknowledge of domestic abuse and safeguarding best practiceincluding policy strategies legislation and case law and itsimplementation within a statutory homelessnessservice.
