Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dietetic team at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. We currently have a part time band 7 vacancy within the oncology dietetic team at Guy's Hospital.
The thoracic oncology dietitian works closely with a dedicated AHP thoracic oncology team in the outpatient service as well as delivering on service improvement projects.
The postholder will also work in collaboration with the dietitians across the South East London Cancer Alliance where patients may also been seen at diagnosis or during hospital admissions.
We are a well-established team of 8 oncology dietitians and 1 dietetic assistant working in the Cancer Centre at Guy's Hospital. The oncology dietetic team is highly respected within the oncology and haematology directorate. As such we are looking for enthusiastic dietitians with excellent team working, organisational, time management and problem solving skills to join our friendly and forward-thinking team.
The successful candidates will require prior knowledge and experience of cancer, nutrition support and palliative care in addition to a clear understanding of the Trust Values and how they can be applied to working within our team.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based at Guy's Hospital managing patients across the cancer pathway from diagnosis oncological treatment through to rehabilitation, survivorship and palliative care. The successful candidate will work alongside a B4 oncology dietetic assistant who will provide 2 days a week of clinical support to thoracic oncology alongside the dietitian.
The postholder will provide supervisory support to a B6 dietitian as well as contributing to service improvement work and supporting the team lead dietitian with deliver of leadership to the team.
