Pearson TQ is looking for a creative, dedicated individual to join our team who can create and deliver engaging and inspiring training. The Business Skills Trainer will develop and deliver high-quality business skills training programmes that enhance and develop learners’ knowledge, skills, and behaviours for their programme. They will teach and deliver courses in both face-to-face workshop and virtual environments to a high standard and support with content and resource development. In addition, they will ensure learning programmes are individualised, bespoke and tailored to suit individual learners' needs.
Core tasks and responsibilities
1. Develop, implement and deliver Business Skills training programmes that are high quality, robust and aligned to organisational standards.
2. Deliver workshop face-to-face and/or virtual training sessions to train and coach learners in business, management and leadership skills.
3. Create resources to assist with training programmes and support learning such as PowerPoint presentations, workbooks, webinars, and handouts.
4. Utilise all available and appropriate technology in the delivery of learning programmes to support and enhance learner experience.
5. Deliver training sessions that are interactive, inspiring, and engaging, supporting differentiation to meet differing learning needs.
6. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and suggest improvements where required.
7. Provide constructive, professional, and relevant feedback to learners.
8. Carry out coaching calls with learners and complete paperwork and administration within agreed timescales.
9. Maintain online blogs, ensuring learner contribution and regular updates.
10. Ensure that allocated learners are progressing in line with their target achievement dates.
11. Track and report progress of planned learning, maintaining records throughout the Apprentice/learner journey.
12. Identify situations requiring periods of absence from the programme or potential issues and submit accurate paperwork in a timely manner.
13. Maintain accurate learner records, including records held within MIS systems, e-portfolio, and online learning systems.
14. Complete learner visits, either virtual or to customer sites, when required.
15. Maintain positive relationships with learners, business partners, and stakeholders.
16. Coach and mentor learners to develop positive attitudes towards learning.
17. Attend standardisation and team meetings as required.
18. Identify, complete, and record appropriate annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
19. Assist in the support and delivery of other qualifications/programmes when required.
20. Be flexible over hours of attendance/work, including evenings and weekends where required.
21. Undertake any other duties as may be required.
Qualifications
1. Hold relevant teaching/training qualifications.
2. Highly motivated, flexible, and adaptable.
3. Excellent communication and IT skills.
4. Proven coaching and mentoring skills.
5. Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills.
6. Able to work under own supervision and on own initiative.
7. Qualified trainer/tutor with at least 5 years training and delivery experience within the business skills sector.
8. Proven experience of creating and delivering inspirational, informative, and engaging training content.
9. Industry competence and experience in a substantive management role.
10. Demonstrate use of technology to support effective and efficient delivery.
11. Demonstrate through previous OTLA and/or standardisation observations is consistently operating as an outstanding or minimum good trainer.
12. Can demonstrate the development of course materials and training resources.
13. Excellent written skills to enable detailed feedback and target setting of objectives.
14. Delivery within the Apprenticeship business skills sector.
15. Delivery experience of CMI Qualifications.
16. Experience of Level 5 Leadership & Management delivery.
