Our client in Hampshire (SP11) is looking to employ an Assistant Farm Manager for their broiler farm.
This progressive farming operation is ideal for someone to support the farm manager with the farm's day-to-day operations and ensure the stock produced is of the highest standard.
The ideal candidate will have previous broiler experience and be able to oversee 225,000 birds from day old to clear over the six sheds.
The impressive site has a biomass woodchip boiler, so some biomass experience is preferred but not essential as training can be given.
This is a challenging and rewarding role for a hands-on and enthusiastic individual with high welfare standards and results-driven.
Within the role, you will be required to:
* Ensure all aspects of running the farm are met.
* Ensuring the welfare of livestock, feed ordering, ventilation management, vaccination, record keeping, etc, are met.
* Maintain safe work practices of all staff and contractors on site.
The successful candidate should have strong stockmanship skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to learn.
The successful candidate will:
* Have experience working with poultry - preferably broilers.
* Have the ability to manage people.
* NVQ Level 3 in Poultry Production or similar qualification - desirable; however, training will be given.
* Possess a practical attitude - be able to carry out manual duties.
* Have basic computer skills.
* Be reliable and committed and able to work with minimal supervision.
* Have a valid UK driving licence.

Salary guide: £30,000 - £35,000 doe
