The Job Core Responsibilities Manage and control the supplier approval process covering new and existing raw materials and packaging suppliers. Be a lead auditor in the formal auditing of our suppliers from both quality and sustainable development perspective, prioritising in line with risk assessment and evaluation, following up on improvement actions plans and providing coaching as required. Keep the wider Technical, Procurement and Sales teams informed of developments with suppliers and products supply chains. Team up with the Procurement team in identifying potential suppliers to ensure contingency plans and support strategic sourcing decisions. Work with the Technical team to ensure cross-functional alignment of priorities and ways of working, and documentation of processes. Coordinate the sustainability action plan, answer customer requests and report data in line with legal requirements and strategic priorities. Supporting Division Performance Work closely with Group colleagues to deliver the strategy, following roadmaps and priorities Ensure and facilitate thorough communication with the wider business to add maximum value to customer service. Provide provenance and products facts for sales documentation, marketing material creation and digital communication. Demonstrate successful previous experience in a sustainability / CSR role, preferably in the food or personal care industry Demonstrate successful previous experience in developing and maintaining vendor relationships Demonstrable understanding of the regulated environment and compliance needs Knowledge of quality management and food safety standards Knowledge of responsible sourcing initiatives and standards and the ability to apply SMETA principles when auditing or assessing the suitability of a supplier Understanding of sustainability standards such as Organic, Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance Supply chain knowledge Excellent networking, interpersonal and relationship building skills, able to communicate successfully and influence both cross-functionally and vertically Creative thinker able to challenge established ways of doing things with a continuous improvement attitude and commercial awareness Autonomy in establishing and managing priorities, ability to work mostly on their own Proactive and pragmatic approach, curious and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.
