Job Overview
Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation NHS Trust (LPFT) delivers an NHS Talking Therapies service. An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Interpersonal Therapist Band 6 to join the Lincolnshire Talking Therapies service based in Lincoln & Skegness, although you may also be required to cover alternative bases to meet service needs. The Service provides evidence-based interventions within a stepped care model, treating people with mild to moderate common mental health problems. Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work within a team environment, and be thoroughly conversant with the use of clinical systems.
The Band 6 Interpersonal Therapist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing Interpersonal Therapy. The post holder will be expected to hold a clinical caseload and will be provided with clinical supervision.
To acquire the post, you will need to have completed the accredited IPT course, be accredited with a professional body, and be willing to take further training.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
1. Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
2. Formulate, implement, and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.
3. Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
4. Attend meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
5. Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
6. Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.
7. Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
8. Undertake psychological assessments of patients referred to the service. Assessments will include identification of the patient’s problem, comprehensive risk assessment, and identification of goals for therapy.
9. Attend CPD and mandatory training provided by the Trust.
10. Provide supervision for other IPT staff as required.
11. Attend clinical supervision.
12. Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating, professional, and accrediting bodies (e.g., BPS, UKCP), and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g., IAPT, National Institute for Clinical Excellence).
13. Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times.
14. Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of IPT.
15. Ensure clear professional objectives are identified, discussed, and reviewed with senior therapists on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development.
16. Attend clinical/managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with Manager.
17. Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives.
18. Attend relevant conferences/workshops in line with identified professional objectives.
19. Contribute to the development of best practice within the service.
20. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies, and procedures.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Mental health qualification (Registered Nurse, SW, OT, Counsellor, PWP).
* Completion of accredited IPT course.
* Training in supervision.
Experience
* Experience of working in Primary Care services.
* Evidence of experience of working with common mental health problems.
* Worked in a service where agreed targets are in place demonstrating clinical outcomes.
* Research experience.

* To formulate service user problems and implement therapeutic IPT interventions to meet the service user needs and within NICE guidelines.

* Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of all relevant policies.
* Understanding of common mental health problems and of current approaches in treatment e.g., NICE guidelines.
* Demonstrate an understanding for the need to use evidence-based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post.
