Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity to join a friendly and busy echocardiography service in South East Essex. Due to maternity leave, we are looking to recruit a dynamic individual to join our echocardiography team, initially for a 12 month period.
This post may suit a recent echo trainee graduate who wants to gather experience whilst taking on their first Chief Physiologist role.
At Southend, we complete over 15,000 echos per year. Our physiologists all hold or are actively working towards BSE adult accreditation.
We have busy Physiologist led PIFU valve clinics, BNP and Oncology clinics. We also run normal routine outpatient clinics, urgent inpatient scans, AF one stop clinics, and support our cardiologists with stress echo and TOE sessions.
We are currently working towards gaining departmental BSE accreditation this year.
Within the next month, we are updating our older machines to have access to the latest in scanning hardware and software across all of our systems. We report using the Phillips ISCV system.
Main duties of the job
1. To complete and report BSE standard outpatient and inpatient echocardiograms in a busy acute hospital setting.
2. Support the junior physiologists in developing their physiology and echocardiography skills.
3. Support the Head of Echo in running the echo department.
