Hours per week: 31.5 hours
Hourly pay rate: £11.44. Bank holiday rate £11.50.
I am caring and honest person. I like to be as independent as possible, but I do need support to manage with my personal care and domestic tasks. At home I like to watch the telly or listen to music. When I’m well enough I like to get out for shopping or go to the garden centre or swimming etc. but need support to do this. I have some medical appointments to attend too so to accompany me on these during working hours would also be required. This role is to provide me with support throughout the day on either a morning or afternoon shift rota, this can be discussed and balanced with the other PAs. I’m happy to be flexible to the hours and shifts that a PA can work – to be discussed at interview. I need physical support with personal care, cleaning and meal prep etc as well as some emotional support at times due to my anxiety and PTSD, for this reason a calm and considerate PA is needed. My property is located near to Croydon Mayday hospital and is well accessed by public transport.
Duties include:
Medication prompting/administering
Personal grooming
Eating and drinking assistance
Moving and handling
Other relevant duties as required
Administration
Housekeeping
Shopping
Cooking
Dressing / undressing
Bathroom assistance
Laundry- all aspects
Changing/ making bed
Taking out rubbish
Minor household maintenance e.g. changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing, cleaning window ledges
Making phone calls on my behalf when I am too unwell to do this
Washing and bathing/ showering- towel drying and drying hair
Assistance with applying cream
General hair/skin/teeth nail care
Using the toilet and changing pads
Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get changed in swimming pool.
Getting in and out of the wheelchair/bed ('transferring')
Physiotherapy exercises and massage
Accompany and assist employer on shopping trips when required, support with shopping online
Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities, including to swimming lessons, the gym.
Helping with errands e.g. post office, collecting medications
Accompany employer to doctors/hospital, physio or therapy appointments etc when required.
Pushing the employer’s wheelchair when out. Alternatively, I would use my walking stick.
Whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching TV, making tea/sandwich otherwise I do not like too many noises or fast movement around me.
