Temporary Force Trainer

Pay Rate: £17.24 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours

NB: Police Vacancy - only for candidates with a minimum of 3 years continuous UK address history. Please note that this vacancy is subject to a strict security vetting procedure.
The postholder will design and deliver targeted training and development programs to ensure that police officers, staff, and other force members possess the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors to meet the force's priorities and objectives. You will focus on delivering both initial and specialized training across designated geographic areas, as well as providing tailored training for specific staff groups to address their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver training across various areas as a facilitator/lecturer to meet the force's needs.
2. Design and deliver on-the-job and off-the-job training, including materials, classroom sessions, and innovative delivery methods.
3. Identify and assess individual and organizational training needs through training needs analysis and discussions with management.
4. Represent the People Department in internal/external meetings, conferences, and liaise with external organizations.
5. Assess and coach students, providing feedback and guidance on skills development.
6. Advise staff on training and development, including internal pathways and external qualifications.
7. Maintain records for courses, lesson plans, materials, and support the preparation of the Force's Training Plan.
Key requirements:
1. A recognised training/teaching qualification (e.g., Police Trainer Certificate or equivalent City & Guilds Further Adult Education Certificate, Certificate of Education, Certificate in Training Practice or equivalent NVQ level III in Learning and Development) OR Similar extensive relevant experience together with a commitment and potential to achieve such a qualification.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate learning and understanding into the workplace and to liaise and respond to the needs of the organisation.
3. Must be able to identify training and development needs and design bespoke training and development interventions according to learning methodologies consistent with the Force guidance.
4. Must be able to effectively provide and manage students, irrespective of their rank or position.
5. Must be able to demonstrate sound organisational and planning skills.
6. Must be able to work effectively as a team member and help to build relationships within that team.
7. Must be IT literate and have experience of MS Word, Excel & Outlook.
