The ideal candidate should have the relevant practical experience but also the desire to take on an element of Project Management to support our growing team.
The position will provide an interesting and challenging mixture of responsibilities and duties that may well differ and be more comprehensive than similar roles at larger organisations. However we believe that this offers freedom of expression and decision making that will require a mature and common-sense approach and a high level of self-management. The correct candidate must be someone who can use their initiative whilst working on their own but also a holistic view when working as part of a team, ensuring standards are upheld. They must have excellent customer communication skills, good Office 365 knowledge and a professional attitude.
A few key points have been highlighted below:
As a Senior Audio-Visual engineer, you will be expected to provide experience, knowledge, and advice on ongoing engineering practices in general and the systems which have been designed for you to install and/or service. This includes any ideas you may have on how to improve our systems and offering, whilst ensuring we operate in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Part of the responsibilities will include engineering supervision as well as pre-project delivery support to sales.
This will include regular communication with customers, suppliers, and service centres, to ensure a prompt, efficient, flexible, and friendly service process. It would be your responsibility to see each project from start through to completion and sign-off, with assistance wherever required.
Excel AV uses a bank of subcontracting engineers and quality of work as well as corrective processes in line with Excel AV needs to be part of the supervision and support delivered by yourself.
The role will involve a large element of travelling as we provide national and international coverage. If this is the case, all travel, accommodation and expenses would be covered by the company, but it may mean that overnight stays are required.
We would expect a certain amount of self-management and initiative both on-site and off. This will include problem solving and customer-facing decision making wherever necessary.
There will always be advice, training, and management available, however as fellow members of the organisation we pride ourselves on being able to operate with an element of independence and discipline, especially during busier times.
The role is very much customer focused and we would expect correct and suitable levels of behaviour accordingly. This includes personal presentation, on-site cleanliness, and a professional attitude at all times. We have worked hard to establish a reputation as a flexible and friendly organization with a can-do attitude, and we would very much like this to continue.
As highlighted above the role will develop as the company grows and there is real potential for positive change and personal development.
All relevant training, tools and materials will be provided to allow the various roles and responsibilities to be carried out.
Regular reviews will be held to ensure all parties agree to all the above on a regular ongoing basis.
What we can offer:
Competitive salary and benefits package including pension scheme.
20 days holiday plus bank holidays (with 1 additional days holiday per year of service up to 25 days max.).
Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.
Supportive work environment with ongoing training.
Company tools and van, plus fuel card.
