Employment Tax specialist/Manager Belfast £neg and competitive Our Big 4 client works with some of Northern Ireland most successful companies. Their reach across the UK and Ireland has made this local tax team extremely successful and are called upon from a mix of NI companies, next generation companies who are growing further afield, Irish multinationals and UK groups. The mix of work in this team when it comes to employment tax is varied so the breadth of experience you will gain is second to none. Some key duties will include:- Assisting clients with understanding complex tax law/HMRCs interpretation, for example IR35 and National Minimum Wage Assisting clients with identifying employment tax matters that could impact the success of corporate transactions (e.g. supporting with due diligences) Assist the senior management group in reviewing detailed technical tax advice in relation to various employment tax issues, including researching employment taxes case law and precedents and providing advice on the tax treatment of all aspects of employee remuneration, such as salary, equity, benefits and expenses Commitment to building and maintaining employment tax technical knowledge including independent reading/research Advising clients on cross border matters, particularly PAYE and social security Delivering quality advisory work to clients. For example, correspondence to HMRC, taking the lead on annual compliance projects (Appendix 4 reporting, P11D, ERS reporting), advice to clients on various employment tax matters and considering the tax implications of proposed remuneration structures To have an active involvement in client meetings and lead where appropriate Assist in the management of client engagement, client accounts and fee recovery for allocated clients Delegate to manage and review trainee work on allocated clients Present in-house tax training courses and assist with client presentations as required. About You You will need to be ACA, ATT or CTA qualified with post-qualification experience You will have significant experience in, and be able to offer our clients your expertise in a range of tax matters You will have a proven record for service excellence and be able to show that you will work well as part of a team with fellow managers, directors and partners, ensuring the smooth running of the department You will have proven client engagement and management skills You will need strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including report writing and presentation skills.
