An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join their dynamic commercial team.
ROLE SPECIFICATION:
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of all Munnelly Support Services sub-contract works, valuations, payments, and variations on a variety of projects simultaneously.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Monitoring budgets and compiling & issuing accurate cost reports on a monthly basis.
2. Experience of system-based CVR reporting (e.g., Coins, Xpedeon, SAP).
3. Issuing monthly interim applications and ensuring payment notices/certificates and payments are received on time.
4. Resolving contractual and commercial problems with advice from senior management where they arise.
5. Value engineering where possible.
6. Liaising with the procurement department on a daily basis, ensuring that project-specific items are procured within budget constraints.
7. In conjunction with senior management, ensuring that the financial aspects and impact of a contract are clear to all parties.
8. Implementing financial KPIs on the projects.
9. Management, mentoring, and training of commercial assistants, apprentices, and trainees.
10. Forming a good working relationship with clients and the supply chain on projects.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
1. Able to manage various labour, waste, and logistics projects ranging in value from £500k to £4 million.
2. Able to successfully liaise and forge good working relationships with clients and the supply chain.
3. Ability to manage and deal with expectations of the labour force and operational management.
4. Sound commercial awareness and attention to detail.
5. Ability to increase profit and revenue in a non-confrontational manner.
6. Subcontract experience in labour supply, logistics, and waste management or similar sub-contract packages.
Essential Requirements:
1. All the senses - common sense, number sense, and humour.
2. Good all-around construction knowledge and the ability to learn.
Desirable Requirements:
1. Degree level educated (preferably in construction).
2. BSc Hons Quantity Surveying.
3. Experience with a main contractor or sub-contractor.
