Falck Fire Services UK is looking for a Security Manager to co-ordinate and manage the operational security activities across the North East sites (including all fixed-term contracts and any pay-per-use (temporary) assignments on the Wilton, Billingham, North Tees and wider North East Region.
* Manage all 24/7 resources, including rostering, for the North East sites.
* Maintain rosters for all workstations, including any temporary “pay per use” sites.
* Manage all requests for annual leave, ensuring that there is adequate cover to maintain services at all times.
* Liaise closely with the Station Commander team & Operations Management Team to maintain correct resource levels.
* Ensure accurate records of working hours are in place for salary payments and governance purposes.
* Management of all security workstations to include but not limited to:
o Regular review of location-specific ‘gatehouse procedures’.
o To carry out workstation health, safety & environmental audits.
o Review of location-specific and generic role-related risk assessments.
* Manage and collate all customer ‘Key Performance Indicators’ for inclusion in company business reports.
* Housekeeping audits to include the appropriate reporting of maintenance issues.
* Manage SIA licensing requirements for all Falck emergency responders and all Falck security guards employed across all North East sites.
* Facilitate and manage the annual SIA-approved contractor status audit program.
* Line Management responsibilities of 2 Team Leaders and Deputy Team Leaders.
* Manage the performance of all Falck security guards employed on all North East sites.
* Manage the development of all Falck security guards, including operational standards, employed on all North East sites.
* Maintain training records for all Falck security guards employed on all North East sites.
* Lead on any performance management issues associated with all Falck security guards employed on all North East sites.
* To manage the security ‘take and pay’ activity for all North East sites e.g. customer plant overhaul, additional temporary security cover for vulnerable areas etc.
* Produce commercial proposals.
* Manage the appropriate resourcing.
* Provide the Finance Director with all accounting information.
* Completion of associated operational documentation (risk assessments, assignment briefs & workstation audits etc.).
* To liaise at an operational level with customers across all North East sites.
* Review of all identified vulnerable locations and assets.
* Review of areas under current threat from incursions.
* Regular interface with the key client representatives to ensure Falck operations are in alignment with the client’s current requirements.
* Support operational crews on any significant security incident on all North East sites.
* To develop security plans for all North East sites covering all potential UK threat levels and ensure teams are trained and validated to meet the needs.
* To develop any potential business opportunities with any fixed contract customer, with regards to perimeter security or internal onsite security.
* Manage the interface with the respective customer for the operations of security systems, including but not restricted to:
o Perimeter security gatehouses and barriers.
o Video recording equipment.
o ANPR.
o Fence cameras.
o Portable security detection equipment.
o Gatehouse scanners.
* Manage the interface between perimeter security and the Wilton Visitor Induction Centre.
* Design and deliver security training for the Falck senior operations team.
* Design and deliver security training for the Falck Crew Commander team.
* Design security training modules for Falck operational crews.
* The dimensions of the job require a flexible approach to working hours.
* The role may require additional activities to be undertaken as directed by the Operations Manager.
About you
* SIA licensed.
* Clean UK Driving Licence & Access to a Vehicle.
* Required to pass employment medical - including drug & alcohol testing.
* Required to pass screening & vetting checks to done to BS7858 by our third-party provider CYS Online.
* Willing to travel across All North East Sites (Wilton, Billingham, North Tees & Sunderland).
* Management experience preferably in the security sector.
* Demonstrable security experience working on COMAH Top tier hazard sites.
* Physically fit.
* High level of communication skills.
* Excellent time manager with tenacity and ability to work unsupervised at times.
* Ability to meet client deadlines.
* A high concern for standards.
* Initiative and strong self-motivation.
* A sound working knowledge of security best practices and legislation affecting the security role.
* Experience in writing security procedures, report writing and preparing business cases.
* Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
* Customer focus and an ability to develop key stakeholder relationships to enhance operational performance and develop the business.
* Local Police / Military authority experience.
* A recognised management qualification to the certificate standard.
* International Ship & Port Security qualification or the ability to attain the qualification.
* Any other Security Industry training qualifications.
* Membership in a recognised professional security institution.
