Our established M&E services installer is seeking a Materials Buyer. The role will suit candidates with experience of purchasing within manufacturing/engineering.
The ideal Materials Buyer will have M&E industry experience/knowledge - Mechanical and Electrical e.g. installation, service, sales, trade counter, plumbing, heating etc.
Salary: £40,000 pa AAE
Location: Rochester
Hours: 7.30am to 4.30pm or 8am to 5pm
Lunch Break: 1 hour
Benefits: 21 days leave + BH, contributory pension scheme, free parking

Materials Buyer Skills/Experience:
1. Good solid education - English, Math & IT.
2. Excellent negotiation skills.
3. Ideally previous experience in procurement.
4. Understanding of market research, data analysis, and purchasing principles.
5. Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
6. Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate.
7. Ability to work autonomously, using own initiative.
8. Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task and time-management skills.
9. The ability to build effective collaborative working relationships.
10. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately.
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Material Buyer Main Responsibilities:
1. Develop long term supply relationships with key vendors employing Supply Chain Management techniques to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of all materials.
2. Processing purchase order acknowledgements and advising relevant personnel when problems arise.
3. Run various reports to define weekly exceptions i.e. late order and open order reports.
4. Implement Vendor Master Data-cleanse.
