Family Assessment Support Worker for Mother and Baby Unit Wanted Position: Family Assessment Support Worker Location: E11, E7, IG1, IG2 Contract Type: Part-Time, /Temporary Salary: £13 Per Hour Closing Date: May 2025 About Organisation: They are a dedicated and compassionate team providing high-quality care and support in their mother and baby Units. Their mission is to ensure that both mothers and their babies receive the best possible care, support, and guidance during their time with us. They are looking for committed Family Assessment Support Workers to join the team, working alongside families to provide emotional and practical support in a safe and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct support to mothers and their babies, offering practical advice, guidance, and emotional support. Work closely with families to assess their needs and provide tailored support plans. Assist in conducting family assessments, ensuring a holistic understanding of the family dynamics. Promote positive parenting skills and healthy attachment between mothers and their babies. Monitor the well-being of both mothers and babies, reporting any concerns to the senior staff. Maintain accurate records of interactions with families, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with safeguarding procedures. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with health professionals, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for families. Provide support with day-to-day activities, including feeding, sleeping routines, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the baby. Facilitate group or individual support sessions to assist with parenting challenges, and emotional well-being. Support the transition of families back into the community as appropriate. Skills & Experience: Experience working with vulnerable families, particularly with mothers and babies, is highly desirable. Knowledge of child development, attachment theory, and safeguarding procedures. Ability to assess and manage risk in a sensitive and supportive manner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A non-judgmental, empathetic approach with a commitment to supporting families to reach their potential.
