Exciting Opportunity: Multiskilled Technician Hourly rate: £15 - £18 per hour depending on experience Location: Oban Gael Force Group specialise in the building of marina pontoons, breakwaters, designing and building of feed barge operations and other aquaculture related engineering activities. What is the job role? The primary purpose of this role is to be responsible for the preventative maintenance, repairs and servicing of all Pen Building plant and hire fleet equipment – inclusive (but not limited to) plastic welding equipment, generators, hand tools, vehicles and forklifts/telehandler maintenance. The role is responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the workshop maintenance area. In addition, the role will be required to ensure efficient, safe and accurate handling of stock, ensuring the highest level of accuracy at all times through receipt and dispatch of materials. The role will assist in preparing pre-fabrication material and assemblies in the workshop to support Gael Force Pen Building production requirements when required and capacity allows. Key Responsibilities : Manage all equipment, plant and site vehicles. This includes preventative and reactive maintenance that does not require third party support. Perform the repair, on site if appropriate, to quality standards, or arrange for return to Hire & Repair Contractor. Provide technical support externally or internally. Prepare equipment to ensure it is ready in all respect for use on site. Maintain stock levels of spares and ensure that test equipment, etc is calibrated in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations. Suggest improvements to equipment, depot policies, systems and working practices as part of a culture of continuous improvement. To have full knowledge of stock control system including booking goods in and out, in accordance with bill of materials and production sheets. Loading and unloading of equipment using a forklift/telehandler. Ensure all incoming deliveries comply with the purchase order, carry out quality checks and store in a timely manner. Pick items to fulfil customer orders and prepare for dispatch. To be able to operate full range of butt fusion machines and associated equipment. To carry out extrusion welding, cut and prepare pipes for pups/fabrication, manufacturing and weld fabrications in accordance with technical drawing with minimum supervision. Essential Skills: An Engineering and/or Mechanical background Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical installations, maintenance and fault-finding systems is essential IT skills Full Driving Licence A working knowledge of the Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
