This position plays a vital role in supporting prisoners on their journey to successful reintegration, from induction through to release. Join us in providing personalised, high-quality CIAG that aligns each prisoner’s skills and ambitions with real-world opportunities like Release on Temporary Licence (RoTL) placements, training, apprenticeships, and employment
Purpose of the role
As a CIAG Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting learners by providing information and advice, ensuring that they are prepared to find and maintain employment opportunities. This is a challenging role however; you will play a huge role by making a difference in people’s lives.
As a CIAG Advisor, you will:
Deliver Tailored CIAG Support: Provide 1:1 support at key stages, from induction to release, guiding prisoners in career planning, creating Digital Personal Learning Plans (DPLPs), and helping them prepare for life after release.
Promote Job Readiness & Employment Preparation: Lead group sessions on CV writing, interview skills, job applications, and disclosure letters, empowering prisoners to secure and sustain employment.
Collaborate with Employment Hub Partners: Work with the Employment Hub and other stakeholders, ensuring prisoners gain access to education, work experience, and training opportunities that boost employability.
Facilitate RoTL Placements: Support the Prison Employment Lead in identifying and matching suitable RoTL placements and post-release vacancies to prisoners' career goals, preparing them for meaningful employment.
Requirements
IAG qualification at Level 4 or above
AET Qualification at Level 3 is desirable
Experience in providing career guidance, ideally within criminal justice, education, or employability settings.
Exceptional communication, mentoring, and organisational skills.
