As a Senior Harness Wirer, your expertise and leadership will be critical in the precision assembly of complex wiring harnesses, including the creation of "golden samples" that serve as quality benchmarks for customer approval. You will ensure that every aspect of harness production, from crimping to quality assurance, meets the highest standards. In this role, you will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of best practices within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Golden Sample Creation:
Lead the creation of "golden samples" for customer review and approval. This requires the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail, ensuring that the sample represents optimal quality and functionality.
Crimping:
Apply advanced crimping techniques to create secure, reliable connections between wires and terminals, ensuring both electrical integrity and long-term durability.
Soldering:
Perform high-precision soldering to ensure secure electrical connections, adhering to industry standards and best practices. Ensure solder joints are strong, free of defects, and meet the specific requirements of each harness assembly.
Cutting & Stripping:
Precisely cut and strip wires according to detailed specifications, ensuring consistency in wire lengths and insulation removal for uniform, high-quality connections.
Cable Preparation & Assembly:Prepare and organize cables meticulously, following complex layout diagrams and assembly drawings. Ensure that all wires are correctly aligned and oriented for seamless integration into larger systems.
Taping & Heat Shrinkage:
Expertly apply insulating materials and operate heat shrink equipment to protect and secure wire assemblies, ensuring compliance with industry standards for safety and durability.
Interpret Complex Electrical Drawings:
Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting advanced electrical wiring diagrams and assembly drawings, ensuring that all harnesses are assembled in accordance with exact customer and engineering specifications.
Advanced Mechanical Skills:
Lead the integration of wiring harnesses into mechanical assemblies, guiding the assembly of flatpack components and enclosures to ensure that all systems work harmoniously.
Digital Documentation & Microsoft Word Proficiency:
Maintain accurate records, including digital job sheets and production logs. Input detailed job information, update records, and access work instructions through Microsoft Word and other digital platforms.
Quality Assurance Leadership:
Conduct and oversee rigorous quality checks throughout the production process. Your commitment to maintaining high standards will ensure that each harness assembly meets or exceeds customer and company expectations.
Health and Safety Leadership:
Actively contribute to creating a safe working environment by identifying and reporting potential hazards. You will document at least one health and safety near miss each month and participate in developing preventative measures to improve workplace safety.
Process Improvement & Innovation:
Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and proposing process enhancements monthly
