About The Job As a Learning Support Assistant at our St. Piers College, you will work as part of a transdisciplinary team of Therapists, Nurses and Support Workers who are passionate about working together to provide the best possible outcomes for our students. Day-to-day, your role will include… Putting our students at the heart of everything we do. Helping to create a safe learning environment where all students are encouraged, and enabled, to achieve their full potential. Enabling students to access learning, using needs-specific, personalised approaches, both with 1:1 and group learning activities. Assisting Tutors in the delivery of their lessons. Contributing to tracking students’ achievements against their learning objectives. Planning and coordinating outings and day trips for our students. Strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for the people you are supporting. Are creative with new ideas to stimulate students. Can be adaptable to changing priorities and working flexibly. Can demonstrate good initiative when dealing with challenging situations. Are engaging communicators, both verbally and in writing. Have, or are willing to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (we can fund this if necessary). Have experience of working in a classroom environment, and effectively recording and tracking student’s learning progress. Ideally have knowledge of specialist areas such Autism, Epilepsy and PMLD.
