We are seeking a motivated Cashier/Credit Controller to join our vibrant office. This is not just a job; it's a chance to be part of a welcoming workplace that values your skills and ideas.
Your Role:
As a Cashier/Credit Controller, you will be the go–to person for managing transactions and ensuring our financial processes run smoothly. Your keen eye for detail will help us maintain accurate records while providing excellent service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Bank Reconciliations – Managing both client and office accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
2. Processing Payments – Setting up and processing electronic payments, including CHAPS, Faster Payments, BACS, and internal transfers.
3. Cheque and Banking Administration – Issuing cheques, handling daily banking tasks, and managing deposit accounts.
4. Petty Cash Management – Processing petty cash requests, making payments, and reconciling accounts.
5. Expense and Invoice Management – Handling partner and staff expenses, processing purchase ledger invoices, and managing payment runs.
6. Billing and Credit Notes – Preparing and issuing invoices, credit notes, and processing debit/credit card transactions.
7. Client Account Administration – Managing residual balances and ensuring proper allocation of funds.
8. Completion Statement Checks – Reviewing and verifying statements to ensure accuracy.
9. Credit Control – Running reports, liaising with fee earners, sending client statements, and issuing court proceedings if required.
10. Confidentiality & Professionalism – Ensuring discretion and maintaining loyalty in all financial and administrative matters.
What We're Looking For:
1. Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
2. Experience in a cashier or credit control role is a plus, but we welcome enthusiastic beginners!
3. Knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts rules is ideal but not essential.
4. Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
