You will be fully supported on this journey by the Director of Childcare, who brings over 20 years of experience as a Residential Manager in large children’s homes. You’ll also receive ongoing support from an Area Manager, and work alongside other Residential Managers with a range of experiences and backgrounds — all on the same mission: to deliver care of the highest standard to children in residential settings. As a Junior Manager, you'll play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of a new children’s residential home, helping to shape the lives of young people while building your leadership skills. About the Home The home is a new build, currently going through the final stages to ensure it meets all current regulations. It has been developed to a high specification, with the needs of the children at the centre of every decision made. This is a 4-bed home based in Derby City. About the Children All of the children will have a range of learning difficulties that may present in different ways. You’ll be responsible for organising a team to ensure that the needs of the children are met to the highest standard. These will be teenagers who require emotional and social support. You must have the ability to connect with the children and build a team that is child-focused and dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for every young person. Key Responsibilities Operational Support: Assist in running a high-quality residential home, ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and OFSTED requirements. Team Building: Work collaboratively to build and lead a strong, motivated team. Mentorship: Learn directly from experienced Residential Managers and gain the skills to manage your own home. Personalised Child Care: Ensure every child receives a tailored care plan that supports their emotional, social, and educational growth. What We’re Looking For Experience: You must have at least 3 years’ experience within a children’s residential setting in the past 5 years and have held senior roles in previous positions. Qualifications: A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or Health and Social Care is essential.
