Serco Maritime are recruiting for an AB to join their current team based in Greenock and operating within the jurisdictional areas of the King’s Harbour Master, Clyde.
As an AB your role will be to function as the main labour force aboard any vessel or facility that requires an AB grade. Reporting to the Vessel Master, you will conduct a range of duties in the task of assisting in the safe operation of the vessel or the handling of its cargo. Main Accountabilities:
- Berthing/Slipping of the Vessel.
- Ship Husbandry Tasks.
- Mooring up of the Vessel when going to anchor. Ship Operational Tasks.
- Cleaning Tasks as directed by the Line Manager.
- Emergency equipment and procedures and location and use of fire fighting equipment.
- Drive deck machinery including cranes.
- Assist in repair and maintenance of ship’s equipment.
- Crane operations
- Ensure measures to prevent pollution of the environment are exercised
- Rope handling
- General maintenance and ships husbandry.
- Other deck related tasking’s through the port as reasonable appropriate to qualification and experience
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Qualifications held must be in line with relevant MHR 202.9 Port Certification Matrices.
- Good communication skills
- Health, Safety and Environmental awareness
- Must be able to obtain Home Office Security Clearance
