Want to do the best work of your life? Playing your part in making a big difference to the environment and communities we serve. Our people make Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work – a place where you can be yourself and let your skills shine.
Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.
With that in mind, at Severn Trent, we are embarking on our largest capital investment programme yet, ensuring we continue to deliver outstanding services to our customers.
Are you ready to shape how we manage, protect and unlock value from one of the largest and most diverse property portfolios in the Midlands? Reporting to the Head of Property and Strategic Resource Options, this is a unique opportunity as a Property Strategy & Standards Business Lead to play a pivotal role in driving the future of land and property strategy across both Severn Trent Water (STW) and Hafren Dyfrdwy (HD).
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
You’ll be responsible for defining and delivering asset strategies across our entire estate, which includes land, operational buildings and facilities sites. You will need to define a minimum 25-year strategy, build long-term business plans, and set standards for implementing these strategies.
Working collaboratively with the entire property team, key stakeholders, and the executive team, you will bring these strategies and long-term plans to life.
You will also oversee property improvement activities to deliver necessary enhancements aligned with the long-term direction of the team.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
You’ll have substantial experience in developing strategies and influencing stakeholders. Knowledge of long-term trends and future concerns is advantageous. Some familiarity with land and property management is useful but not essential. You must demonstrate a strong track record of delivering solutions in complex and uncertain environments.
You’ll be a confident leader of high-performing, cross-functional teams, with the ability to assess risk, sponsor strategic investments, and influence senior stakeholders.
Experience managing budgets, shaping business decisions through data, and embedding new processes to improve efficiency is also required. Ideally, you will have a degree or relevant qualifications, and a full UK driving licence is essential.
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, as we believe diversity enhances our learning and service to communities. We support various employee networks including LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability, and Ethnicity groups.
We do more, because we care.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
Working here is more than just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent, supported by a range of benefits and award-winning training programs. We also encourage you to contribute to environmental and community initiatives.
Some of our key benefits include:
* 31 days holiday plus bank holidays (with options to buy or sell up to 5 days)
