Job Title: Senior Support Worker Head Office Location: Brindley Place, Birmingham Job Location: (CV5 6GY) Coventry Salary - £25,207 per annum Contract type - Permanent Working hours - Full Time (35 hours per week) About the role This Senior Support Worker role will be working with homeless offenders with complex needs and deputising for the scheme manager in maintaining quality and performance targets for the service. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a rota that covers 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. (This is alternated over two weeks - week 1 rota is working 08:00 to 15:30 and week 2 rota is working 12:30 to 20:00) Experience working with homeless and knowledge of welfare benefits are required as is skills in electronic recording. Drivers licence is desirable. Reporting to the Scheme Manager you will be providing housing related support to homeless adults with an offender background. This service works exclusive with homeless people with a criminal record. A key responsibility of the post holder will be managing risk of harm and risk of re-offending which includes the electronic recording, creating, reviewing and amending of support plans and risk assessments centred around resettlement to general needs housing and recidivism. As a provider of supported housing you will assist in all housing management functions such as collecting and recording rent, reporting repairs and purchasing supplies. Working with the Probation Service, Police, Housing and Benefit Services you are required to provide advice and guidance to customers to assist them with access to general needs housing and their successful reintegration into the community. This is a varied and challenging role which can also be very rewarding when performed well - you will be making a difference not only to the individuals that you work with but also to the wider community. About you Ideally you will have: - 2 years` experience of working with vulnerable client groups with complex needs (offending, mental health, homeless, substance misuse), and managing support needs and risks presented - the ability to lead, inspire, motivate and develop staff at all levels to deliver ourvision and goals. - the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders including customers, staff, Boards and external partners and commissioners. - experience of budgetary management and analysing financial performance. - experience of enabling busy operational teams to deliver new business growth and customer service excellence - be organised and methodical in delivering service excellence using procedural and legislative frameworks. - the ability to demonstrate sustained levels of personal initiative to be creative and innovative and deliver effective service solutions - the ability to manage conflicting priorities and a busy schedule of short-, medium- and long-term activities. Can prioritise and deliver objectives under pressure. - a sound knowledge of drug and alcohol services - a clear understanding of managing risk of harm and risk of re-offending - an understanding of how to implement fairness, equality and diversity - a non-judgmental approach to service delivery - a flexible and adaptable approach to achieving goals - the ability to build strong relationships, internally and externally Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require evidence of the required certificates and qualifications for this role.
