An exciting opportunity has arisen for a H&S Advisor to work alongside the Health & Safety Manager and its existing staff in order to ensure that the workforce can carry out their tasks in a safe and controlled way. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual with determination and tenacity.
Role and Responsibilities
Working alongside the HSEQ Director, H&S Manager and Environmental Compliance Manager, you will help to ensure compliance with relevant company and legislative requirements.
Duties will vary but include:
1. Supporting the H&S Manager to implement and roll out safety training and awareness
2. Maintain our database of all accidents and near misses
3. The review and production of risk assessments and safe systems of work
4. Safety auditing of operational sites, both general and focused
5. Assisting in internal and external audits for the company ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management System
6. Conducting Training Needs Analyses (TNAs) to identify where additional or refresher training is required for those in operational roles
7. Providing support to incident investigations to identify root causes and preventative actions
8. The production and delivery of toolbox talks, safety bulletins and safety alerts
9. Reviewing Display Screen Equipment assessments carried out on DSE users
10. Additional duties as required by the department and company
Qualifications and Education Requirements
A recognised H&S qualification, such as NEBOSH National General Certificate, is highly desirable but candidates without this qualification should not be put off.
Ideally, you will have a minimum of three years of health and safety experience, but we are open to all candidates and would consider those starting their health and safety career with a modicum of experience.
An understanding and background in high-risk industries would be a distinct advantage.
Additional Notes
1. The role will involve travel between company sites and so a full and valid driving license will be required; a company car or suitable allowance will be provided.
2. Training may be provided both internally and at external training providers where required.
3. You may be required to assist the company Transport Compliance Managers with instruction and training to company drivers and other duties related to maintaining the company Operator Licenses.
In return you can expect a salary of £28-£35k plus car or car allowance.
