An exciting opportunity has become available to work in the Virtual School team making a difference for post 16 children looked after and care leavers.
The successful candidate will share our enthusiasm and commitment to promoting the highest educational expectations and aspirations for Children Looked After to support them in education, training or employment.
Raising aspirations, working with other professionals to overcome barriers to learning and supporting care leavers into higher education are all integral parts of this role.
We are seeking an excellent communicator who can quickly develop positive working relationships with sixth forms, college settings and other post 16 providers and deliver high support and high challenge.
This person will work with colleagues in the pathway team and children’s disability teams to maximise opportunities for CLA/ care leavers and lead the improvements to the post 16 personal education plans.
The ability to drive around the East Riding is essential.
A secondment from within the council or from a school/college setting would be considered.
