The role
As a Welding and Fabrication Trainer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will deliver welder training, ensuring workforce readiness, advancing safety compliance, maintaining equipment efficiency, and driving innovation through continuous development and tailored trainee support.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
* Deliver welder training utilising Manual Metal Arc (MMA), Metal Insert Gas (MIG) / Metal Active Gas (MAG) welding, Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and Oxy-Acetylene (OA) welding to military trainees aged 17 years and over.
* Conduct visual and destructive testing of welds.
* Conduct course and trainee administration.
* Support trainees with any specific learning differences (SPLD’s).
* Conduct assessment, invigilation and marking of practical, theoretical examinations and weekly progression tests.
This role is full time, working 37 hours per week and based onsite at MOD Lyneham.
Essential experience of the Welding and Fabrication Trainer:
* Supervisory Experience
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a welding environment
Qualifications for the Welding and Fabrication Trainer:
* A welding related apprenticeship and/or qualification to a recognised Level 3
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
