Our Project team is currently seeking a Commissioning Mechanical Lead to join their team. This position will be based in our St. John's office with periodic business trips to Ingleside, TX, and offshore Newfoundland for project scope completion. As the Commissioning Mechanical Lead, you will support the Mechanical SME with daily work, resource planning, vendor support, and coordination of commissioning activities.
What will you be doing?
1. Execute and manage Mechanical commissioning personnel and subcontractors to ensure successful commissioning of Mechanical systems according to strategy and schedule.
2. Manage commissioning craft labor and subcontractors for Mechanical activities.
3. Coordinate with Operations to identify and prepare documentation supporting isolations and certificates (ICC's).
4. Prepare permits to work and supporting documentation as per client systems.
5. Gather and maintain commissioning documentation to validate readiness for operation of critical start-up items, including checksheets, PSSR punches, and equipment data.
6. Participate in commissioning risk management processes, including HAZOPs, JHA's, and FLRA's, emphasizing safety and quality.
7. Participate in project Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
8. Supervise and mentor field personnel, conduct safety meetings, and ensure adherence to commissioning policies.
9. Coordinate with client disciplines and commissioning personnel across disciplines.
10. Contribute to offshore daily reporting, including timesheets.
11. Address technical queries from the field.
12. Review and approve turnover documentation before acceptance from construction.
13. Perform as-building and redlining of documentation.
14. Resolve personnel issues with support as needed.
We think you should have:
1. Technical diploma or Trade Certification as a journey person Millwright with at least 8 years of commissioning experience in an industrial/offshore environment.
2. Minimum 5 years of frontline supervisory experience.
3. Offshore experience and working with multidisciplinary teams.
4. Offshore supervisory experience is an asset.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Understanding of local safety and offshore regulations is an asset.
7. Completion of mandatory safety training and offshore qualifications for Newfoundland.
