Stop Domestic Abuse provide refuge and community-based support to adults, children and young people affected by domestic abuse. They support survivors to navigate the criminal justice system throughout all stages of their journey; they advocate for survivors ensuring their views and needs are heard and upheld; they also deliver one-to-one and group work for adults, children and young people to help them understand domestic abuse and improve their safety.
The charity currently generates the majority of its income via government contracts and grants as well as smaller trusts and foundations, but they would like to broaden their income base by developing partnerships with local and national businesses as well as growing the support they currently get from individual donors and the wider community. Interested candidates will need to have fundraising experience, ideally in a donor facing role involving outreach at networking events, presentations to local and national businesses and other similar activities. You must also have the ability to guide and shape strategy and work closely with the Development Director to set and achieve income targets.
This is a hybrid role, working within a small but very supportive and enthusiastic team and would suit someone who enjoys developing new ideas and initiatives, has lots of passion and enthusiasm and has the ability to build strong, lasting relationships with new and existing supporters.
*Please note, this post is open to female applicants only as being female is deemed to be a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
*Stop Domestic Abuse is also a trauma informed organisation, and the work the charity does to support those effected by domestic abuse may be triggering for those with past trauma, therefore please only apply if you are living free from abuse.
