TITLE: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
ROLE: To keep financial data up to date
REPORTS TO: Group Finance Director
REPORTS IN: None
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
SALARY: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum
This is a great opportunity for an accountant with some reporting experience to take responsibility for the full reporting function and develop the role over time to become a Finance Manager or a Financial Controller. We are committed to helping the successful candidate develop their skills and experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
* Collaborate with Financial Managers and other team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks including but not limited to bookkeeping, postings etc.
* Maintain company ledgers and daily financial transactions.
* Create financial documents such as bills, invoices, payables, receivables and purchase orders where needed.
* Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them.
* Liaise and manage payroll activities with concerned personnel.
* Coordinate and manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors and vendors.
* Verify payments and deposits made through the company account.
* Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts
* Month end journals including payroll, accruals, pre-payments, depreciation, etc
Qualifications
* BSc in Accounting and Finance /AAT/AIA qualified required.
* Minimum of three years' experience as Assistant Accountant. required
* Experience in accounting for social housing and property management is required
* Experience in Xero essential
* Intermediate level Excel ability (Vlookups, Pivot tables, ability to work with large spreadsheets)
* Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads under pressure
* Willingness to learn and develop
