The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience in financial reporting and analysis, along with a solid accounting skill set ideally gained within the Commodity Trading or Energy sector.
Responsibilities
* Monitor key financial reports to support clear and accurate analysis
* Manage ledger accounts and maintain up-to-date accounts payable/receivable
* Process invoice data and perform regular reconciliations
* Review and process incoming invoices and payments, ensuring compliance and supporting automation
* Maintain strong communication with suppliers and clients
* Review contracts to identify and assess potential creditor risks
* Collaborate with settlements and financial control teams to post journals accurately and resolve discrepancies
* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ageing analysis; work with the wider business to reconcile intercompany balances at month-end
* Reconcile cleared paper trades and post relevant journals for cash settlements
* Produce financial reports and analysis for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
* Support internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate information
* Perform ad hoc analysis and support various projects as needed
* Contribute to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and controls
* Assist with position reporting and production/review of Profit and Loss (PnL)
* Prepare monthly regulatory reports
* Support additional tasks as required
Key Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
* Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role
* Strong organisational skills with a results-oriented and efficient working style
* Excellent communication skills in English
* Detail-oriented, accurate, and able to work at a fast pace
* A team player who is proactive and adaptable
* Comfortable working in a small, close-knit team
* Ability to communicate across multiple departments (Front Office, Back Office, Finance, Senior Management)
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel
