The Role
We are looking for an experienced Tax Semi-Senior to join our growing Tax team in our Borehamwood office. The role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work with an incredibly broad range of clients. You’ll also be responsible for preparing annual tax returns for a portfolio of clients including individuals, partnerships and trusts. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparing annual tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and forms P11Ds/PSAs/ATEDs, non-resident landlords
Dealing with multi property rental accounts
Obtaining missing information from the client, third parties or elsewhere in the firm as appropriate
Ensuring all deliverables are delivered at the correct level and end product being of high quality and within the appropriate deadline
Assisting in dealing with Enquiries raised by HMRC
Preparing basic capital gains computations
Preparing/amending and/or approving letters and emails for the supervisor’s approval
Drafting replies to client or third-party correspondence, seeking further input as appropriate
Preparing other forms etc. as required by HMRC or other third parties
Document and communicate workflow status to Manager on a regular basis
Ensure all jobs are completed within specific budgets, keeping Manager
informed at all times of progress of job
Ensure timesheets are completed and submitted weekly
Monitoring chargeability on a weekly basis
Various ad hoc work as it arises such as technical research
Ensure WIP levels are kept within set budgets and advise Manager of potential budget over runs
Assist junior staff in developing their understanding of the various software packages, tax laws and statutory requirements
Attend all allocated internal and external training sessions as required

Previous professional practice experience in taxation
Experience of at least one tax seasons
Solid understanding of tax software
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Qualifications
A relevant degree or equivalent
Studying towards ATT/CTA qualification Skills
Strong communication skills
Advanced computer operational skills
Good time management skills
Experience working with CCH and Virtual Cabinet
The ability to self-manage
Organised
Good attention to detail
Reliable
Proactive
