Job Description
As a Technical Sales Person, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and providing technical expertise to help customers choose the right products or services. You will work closely with Red Sensors’ small development team, and customer’s engineering teams, technical staff, and product development to understand the complexities of the products or services offered and required. The role requires sales skills to effectively communicate value propositions and close deals. You will be based in Leicester but sales are expected to be UK and international.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development:
* Identify potential clients through networking, cold calling, and other lead generation activities.
* Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities in the technical and engineering sectors.
Sales & Account Management:
* Present and demonstrate products or services to prospective customers, both in person and via virtual platforms.
* Find new sales opportunities, negotiate terms, and close sales deals.
* Meet or exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs.
Technical Expertise:
* Provide clients with technical support and knowledge about the product or service.
* Work with Red Sensors’ engineers to understand product specifications and communicate customer requirements.
* Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and exhibitions to promote products and services and to assess the market
Customer Support:
* Offer post-sale technical assistance and solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Troubleshoot product issues and liaise with our technical team to resolve customer problems.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Sales Experience: Proven experience in a technical sales role, preferably in the engineering, technology, lidar or scientific sectors.
* Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of the product range and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-expert customers.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical products in a clear and persuasive manner.
* Problem Solving: Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address customer needs and technical challenges.
* Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate effectively and close sales deals while maintaining strong customer relationships.
* Adaptability: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, or a related field.
* Experience in B2B sales and knowledge of industry trends in the global market.
