You will be working closely with students who have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The school has KS1 to KS5 and various needs from able ASD to PMLD. Your role will be crucial in providing essential support that helps these students overcome challenges, build confidence, and succeed in their learning. Autism Support Worker Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND. Assist in the implementation of personalized learning plans and therapeutic interventions. Use communication tools such as visual aids, Makaton, PECSto enhance understanding. Help manage sensory needs, including supporting students with physical disabilities or medical needs. Foster a safe, stimulating, and encouraging environment for students. What Were Looking For: Experience working with SEND students, particularly those with PMLD, SLD, or ASD. OR - someone who is willing to give it a goandto learn, grow, and adapt to the unique needs of our students Knowledge of Makaton or similar communication tools is a plus. A background in youth work, volunteering, or experience in care settings is advantageous.
