Role: Quantity Surveyor Salary: 50k – 55k car / car allowance Hours: 37.5 pw Location: Birmingham Contract: Permanent Role I have a fantastic opportunity with a leading facilities management company for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Complex facilities Team on a full time, permanent basis. This role is based in Birmingham and will offer hybrid working. The purpose of the role is to implement commercial best practice to maximise value and minimise risk and cost to the business. You will ensure compliance with the company systems, processes and procedures to deliver post contract management on the Birmingham & Solihull PFI Contract within the Healthcare sector. The Birmingham and Solihull contract is a PFI contract whereby the company manage and deliver a variety of facilities management services including life cycle, capex and maintenance works in a fast paced, challenging business environment. Responsibilities Implement commercial processes to ensure contractual entitlements are realised Create robust coding structures to facilitate accurate cost capture Manage subcontractor accounts in line with agreed documentation Play a key role in the Management Team, reporting to the divisional structure Meet strict deadlines as required under the contracts and company guidelines Prepare commercial reports, including cost-value reconciliations and cash flow forecasts, in collaboration with finance colleagues Lead the production of weekly/monthly cost and value reconciliations and forecasts, advising the Project Manager/Senior Commercial Manager Oversee all aspects of subcontract procurement and payment Support tender processes and strategies when required Provide commercial and financial feedback to relevant support functions Deliver commercial support to other contracts as required or directed Submit final anticipated client outturn costs with each application for payment Submit timely Change Requests, including price and programme impacts, for agreement Offer sound commercial and contractual advice to the Account Manager and team members What We’re Looking For Essential: Experience with subcontract management and PFI contracts Competency in basic computer skills Strong commercial and financial acumen Ability to manage time, set priorities, and meet strict deadlines Methodical and structured working style Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word Strong negotiation and communication skills Knowledge of contracts and ability to maintain positive client relationships while protecting contractual entitlements Team player with a commitment to mentoring junior team members Resilience under pressure Desirable: Degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent) or demonstrable experience in quantity surveying/commercial management in a senior role Benefits: People put the company among the top 1% of employers and they have a competitive reward and benefits program Career Development - Exceptional development and progression plan Pension – Generous Pension scheme which we will contribute to Holidays - Minimum 24 days holiday Bank Holidays Choices – Their flexible benefits scheme is tailored by you, including buying additional annual leave, cycle2work scheme, charity giving and gym membership Saving scheme – Their online voucher portal gives you access to thousands of discounts from leading retailers to help you save on shopping, days out, or nights in.
