What We're Looking For:
Essential Qualifications
* MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical qualification
* Fully qualified GP with full GMC registration (without restrictions)
* Registered on a Local NHS England Performers List
Essential Experience & Skills
* Minimum five years post-qualification experience in a relevant specialty
* Ability to assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of primary care conditions
* Experience in managing primary care patients in an urgent care setting
Main Duties of the Job
The UTCs are co-located within the Emergency Departments at both sites (Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital) and will receive patients who present with a minor illness and/or injury.
The team will comprise Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Emergency Nurse Practitioners with medical cover from GPs and trainees. In addition, the team will work very closely with the Emergency Department, secondary care, Social Services, Mental Health and other specialist services.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is the main provider of acute hospital services for around half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales.
Our main service locations are the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) in Shrewsbury which are located 20 minutes' drive apart. Together they provide 99% of our activity. Both hospitals provide a wide range of acute hospital services including accident & emergency, outpatients, diagnostics, inpatient medical care and critical care.
Job Responsibilities
Professional/Clinical:
* To always exercise professional accountability
* Support the UTC lead to ensure that UTC policies and procedures are up-to-date and that all staff comply to agreed policies and maintain best practice.
* Perform assessment of patient needs, plan and implement clinical treatment
* To access diagnostics including bloods, ECGs and X-Rays.
