Become a BR-DGE Builder About the Role Our product is only as good as the people behind it and we are going through an exciting period of growth and are looking for an experienced Lead Java Developer to fuel this and to assist in the development and delivery of new products and features. As one of our Lead Java Developers, you will play a key role in the delivery of our company’s ambitious plans and to develop our innovative product offering. You’ll also take an active lead in helping our teams continue to iteratively improve, while ensuring our development processes stay lean and efficient. Tech Stack Our teams mainly work with the following: Java/Spring Boot 3 Kubernetes Jenkins CI/CD Gradle AWS RabbitMQ Couchbase Location Remote or Hybrid based in the UK; our office is based in central Edinburgh, just a 5-minute walk from Haymarket station, and whilst being local is an advantage it is not essential. About you You have an excellent knowledge of Java, Spring Boot and the key Spring frameworks. You have a good understanding of message-driven microservice architecture and have contributed to and led the design of microservice solutions. You have a track record in mentoring developers. You have a good knowledge and experience in Kafka and/or RabbitMQ. You have led successful REST API implementation. You have good experience with databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Couchbase, Mongo DB, etc.) and data model designs. You have experience building and deploying fault-tolerant distributed systems on Linux, possibly in a cloud environment. You are familiar with cloud computing concepts and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle, Jenkins, etc.) You ensure your team maintains very high development standards in terms of code quality, code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration, and deployment. You have proven capability to interact with stakeholders and deliver results according to their requirements. You have an appetite for taking on challenges and leveraging new technologies. You have good verbal and written communication skills. You have experience in improving performance of a microservice platform. Ideally, you have some experience in payment processing and knowledge in industry standards (PCI, 3-DS, etc…) You have experience working with Agile.
