We are currently looking for Support Assistants who will provide a professional customer focused Business Support Service. Business Support provides a wide variety of administrative support - you will work alongside Managers and colleagues supporting the following areas of the Council:
1. Education & Children’s Services.
2. Health & Social Care.
3. Mail
4. Accounts.
Depending on the position you will be responsible of tasks from the following; updating computer systems and processes to support service delivery, minute taking for meetings held by the social work service, preparing, and distributing documentation, mail handling, invoice/payment/cash processing, scheduling meetings and appointments, handling customer enquiries via phone, email, filing, and e-filing.

The Person
Educated to National 4 with core skills modules, SVQ1, 3 Standard or “O” Grades or equivalent.
You would ideally have experience of minute taking for meetings and or invoice processing, using current computer-based applications to carry out a range of duties. Good communication skills are necessary including an awareness of customer care with telephone, e-mail, and face to face enquiries.
An awareness of confidentiality is essential, along with how you might handle this type of information in a secure and safe manner.
Key skills required include accuracy, attention to detail, time management, customer service, interpersonal and organisational skills.
You are required to have good levels of interpersonal skills to enable you to work as part of a team or on your own as required.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
